Here's the latest on the pears! I still have to scumble darks into the reflection area as well as work at the highlights on the pears and in the reflections, and more in the direct shadows. Also, the lower stem. But ..... it's coming along! I think when it's done, I'm going to crop a bit off the bottom.
I almost hate to finish it because then I have to start another and I just don't know what to start next. Though, I *did* take some good shots of Ornamental Cabbages on Saturday. Or perhaps, jellyfish ......
I'm liking these pears ......
This morning, I got up early, cooked *another* turkey - but this time, not to eat as a turkey dinner. This time, the entire turkey went into 7 large turkey pot pies! With homemade crust. That was tiring! I kept coming into my painting room to paint and rest from it. ;-)

ps - I don't think I mentioned previously that this is on a 1/4 sheet of Arches 300 lb CP. Watercolour, of course. :-)

Your pears look great! Not so sure I would crop it. I like the rich darks at the bottom and you would loose them...
Deb, impressive work. I so wish you would paint more and enter shows. You are too good an artist to hide your light under a basket (or paintings under the bed.) :grin:

Amazing! I would've thought this was done in oils if I didn't know your chosen medium. Please don't be offended by that comment, as it is meant as a compliment. It's just that I seldom see watercolor used in this manner. It's beautiful!

No offence taken - I do take it as a compliment! I love to push the boundaries of watercolour and was aiming for this 'look'. Oh Deb, where to begin? paint more! you're amazing with those brushes girl, in the previous step I was so in love with the black background but then here you come and do that to the bottom, looks great indeed.
BTW, have I heard jellyfish? and turkey? maybe jellyfishes eating turkey pie? now I'm hungry...
They are beauties, Deb. I don't know if I'd crop bottom, either. Perhaps play with some mat cut outs , to see what it looks like. It is a really beautiful and warm piece!
